Razer Viper V4 Pro design & features
Agility is crucial to the Razer Viper V4 Pro design ethos, and this is apparent from its ergonomic shape, excellent skates, and satisfying buttons. Weighing in at only 49g, it’s one of the lightest esports mice I’ve ever used. As a former competitive Counter-Strike player, I can tell you first-hand that you need a light touch and gentle flick to make those aces, and each gram matters then, particularly if you’re AWPing. Polling rate is also paramount. Through its HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 system, there’s proper 8,000Hz polling as standard, and this ensures the lowest motion and click latency possible. It’s all for the fluidity, after all.
What immediately stood out to me after swapping from other mice, like the Superstrike and the ASUS ROG Harpe II Ace, was the new Razer Focus Pro 50K optical sensor. It’s incredibly smooth and responsive, and while you’re unlikely to need as high as 50K (I tend to play with 400-800 DPI), the overhead gives you the smoothest possible gaming experience. This extends to the fourth-generation optical switches with 0.25mm actuation. On top of being incredibly responsive and satisfying, it also just feels and sounds good. I wasn’t sure that I would have liked to go back to an optical click after getting used to the haptics of my previous mouse, but I’m glad I was wrong.
Razer Viper V4 Pro performance
I’m a touch later on this Razer Viper V4 Pro review than some other outlets, but I’ve also spent far more time with this esports mouse at a higher level than most press, too. It’s been my primary everyday mouse for over a month now, and in this time, I’ve played VALORANT Premier tournaments, played CS2, ranked Fortnite Zero Build, Warzone, PUBG, and more of my favorite games to great success. It took a little getting used to the ergonomics and feel of a Razer pointer after months of my Logitech and ASUS options, but now I couldn’t imagine my gaming setup without it; the way this mouse glides across my desk, and the precision of it all has been generally unmatched.
In my first VALORANT Premier game played with the Razer Viper V4 Pro, I got two back-to-back Aces, and that was when I knew that Razer thoroughly understood what the esports crowd wanted out of a gaming mouse in 2026. Rifling with this pointer was smooth, fast, and accurate, allowing me to properly flick my wrist to secure the victory. It translated into our games, too. Both Aleksha and I scored two back-to-back Victory Royales in ranked Fortnite Zero Build and even won our first-ever Warzone battle royale as well. I’ve since racked up hundreds of hours with this mouse and only gotten better, so I can’t fault it at all. If you’ve got the skill, this is the mouse for you; no gimmicks, no flashiness.
