Mechanical standing desks can make a world of difference if you’re someone who likes to be on their feet during the workday – or if you’re someone who, like me, fidgets and can’t sit still while gaming.
The KOWO K3101 standing desk is simple yet stylish, and based on my time with it, it’s well worth your time if you’re looking for a new workspace. Below, you’ll find Kyusai’s full review of the KOWO K3101 standing desk, looking at everything from the setup to the value for money.
Is the KOWO K3101 desk worth it? Standing desk review

The KOWO K3101 standing desk is a mechanical desk with a chamfered top and sleek, modern design. Coming in at $403.20/£299.99, it’s in the midrange price-wise in the standing desk world.
I’ve never used a standing desk before and I’m a bit of a wrecking ball when it comes to DIY, so I was somewhat concerned about assembly once I’d ordered this desk – thankfully, the assembly process was incredibly easy. It took me roughly 30 minutes to build it.
The desk arrived in two boxes, with one containing the desk top and the other containing the mechanical legs.
Assembling the desk was simply a case of attaching the desk legs, flipping the desk over, and plugging in the wires underneath the desk top to enable mechanical movement. Setting up the underneath of the desk with the power bank and control wires didn’t take long, either.

The KOWO K3101 desk top is made of a sturdy wood with a chamfered edge, meaning it’s rounded without any corners jutting out. While this may make it tricky for folks who use monitor arms to organize their setup, I found the chamfered top to be sleek and aesthetically pleasing.
Adjusting the KOWO K3101 is simple and requires minimal input once set up; there’s a small control panel on the front of the desk with an up and down button, along with options for preset heights.
If, like me, you’re someone who’s easily bothered by noise, the KOWO K3101 is quiet when it moves, with a muted hum. Some mechanical desks are fairly noisy when they’re being adjusted – thankfully, this isn’t the case here.
Something exceptional about the controls for this desk is that there’s a locking mechanism. On the right-hand side next to the charging ports, there’s a small button that locks the desk in place, meaning you can avoid any accidental bumps or tweaks when the desk is in its desired position.

Along with the trio of charging ports along the right-hand side of the desk, there’s a wireless desk built into the top. It’s a neat addition that means you can charge your phone easily while working, but I haven’t found myself using it too often as it’s a little fiddly to find the right positioning.
There’s a hidden compartment in the KOWO K3101’s front, with three separate compartments. It fits seamlessly into the front of the desk, but there’s a surprising amount of space, comfortably fitting a handful of notebooks, an iPad, pens, and other desk essentials.
For the price, the KOWO K3101 is absolutely worth checking out. It’s smooth and eye-catching in its appearance, simple to set up, and incredibly functional, with intuitive controls and handy features like a compact drawer and charging ports. It comfortably fits a monitor and PC setup, leaving plenty of space to work.
