Picking your character in an MMO can take hours, no matter if you’re a fan of roleplaying, PvP, or PvE.With a game like World of Warcraft: Forever, you’re picking out how the world will see you, but also how you’ll be able to interact with the world via your abilities and racials.
If you’ve been hunting for a WoW: Forever class tier list and want to know which race-class combos are the best, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a breakdown of the best race and class combos in World of Warcraft: Forever, including the abilities and racials that work in harmony together.
What are the best class and race combos in WoW: Forever?

WoW: Forever is best thought of as a fresh, enhanced take on the Classic World of Warcraft experience. Aside from the new Skyborne race and some updated race-class combos, the options on offer are reminiscent of the Classic days of the game.
Warriors
Starting with the melee classes, Warriors will want to roll Human for Alliance or Orcs for Horde. For Humans, there’s the Ruthless passive ability, which increases your critical strike chance. Perception helps you pick out enemies in stealth temporarily and Will to Survive removes stuns. Both of these are crucial for PvP, but also great for levelling utility.
Orcs have Blood Fury, providing a temporary bump to attack and spell power, along with Hardiness, which limits the duration of stuns that’ve hit your character. Shatter Curse can also help deal with magical enemies, as it cuts magical damage taken and removes both curses and banes.
Paladins
If you’re planning on playing a Paladin, go Human for Alliance and Undead for Horde. Horde players don’t have much of an option here, with Undead being the only option, but they’re incredibly well-designed in WoW: Forever, with brilliantly thoughtful flavor text and theming.
Humans provide the critical strike chance and stun removal that Paladins benefits from naturally, but the Human Spirit passive gives a 10% Boost to your Spirit stat, which is invaluable.
Rogues
For Rogues, Alliance have two strong options with Gnomes and Night Elves. Go for Gnomes; their Eureka ability cuts cost and boosts damage temporarily, allowing for some nasty burst damage. Gnomes also have 5% more Energy with Expansive Mind, and Escape Artist to help with temporary immunity to roots and snares.

Trolls are the best of the bunch for Horde players, with Berserking applying an attack speed buff. They can also regenerate health much more efficiently with Rapid Regeneration and the Regeneration passive, which help if you’re planning to battle other players.
Shamans
For Shamans, Alliance only have one option – Dwarves. Horde have a few, though, with the best being Skyborne, largely due to the haste boost with Wind Blessed, which feels purpose-built for Shamans. The Walk on Air and Skysight movement-enhancing abilities are also valuable in both battle and speedy levelling.
Hunters
For Hunters, Alliance should roll Night Elf for Elune’s Light, which boosts critical strike chance for 15 seconds. With Hunter’s speedy style of attack, this is a match made in heaven. Shadowmeld helps with utility in the overworld, allowing the user to stealth when standing still, and Quickness boosts both dodge chance and run speed.
For Horde, Trolls are the best pick, although Tauren are a close second with their movement-enhancing abilities. Trolls have excellent Regeneration options with both their passive and the Rapid Regeneration ability, and the Berseking ability helps to enhance your attack speed.
Druids
For Druids, Alliance should pick Night Elves and Horde should pick Skyborne. Night Elves naturally fit the Druid class with Elune’s Light working with essentially every spec, and Shadowmeld helps with utility while levelling. On top of this, the dodge chance and run speed boost from Quickness work nicely here.
Horde Skyborne have the haste buff from Wind Blessed, along with the movement enhancements from Walk on Air and Skysight. Wind Blessed is especially good for Druids, as it enhances melee, ranged, and spellcasting haste, which suits the class’s multiple specs.
Mages
For Mages, Gnomes are the obvious Alliance pick, with Eureka cutting ability cost and enhancing damage. The Mana boost from Expansive Mind is another reason why this race is perfect for spellcasting.

Trolls are the best Horde pick, helping to mitigate some of the Mage class’s natural squishiness with their Regeneration passive and Rapid Regeneration ability. Berserking also helps to enhance damage potential and can be particularly good for PvP.
Warlocks
For Warlocks, Alliance should roll Human and Horde should roll Orc. The Human Spirit buff for Humans applies a buff to the Spirit stat, which is brilliant for spellcasters, and the critical strike enhancement from the Ruthless passive works perfectly for heavy ranged combat.
One of the main reasons why Orcs are so good for Warlocks is the Command ability, which boosts the amount of damage dealt by pets and demons. They also have a damage boost with the Blood Fury ability, along with combat utility from Shatter Curse and the Hardiness passive, helping to manage curses and banes while mitigating stuns.
Priests
For Priests, Gnomes are the ideal pick for Alliance, while Undead fit the bill for Horde. The Eureka ability can help you heal for less resources in a pinch, cutting cost and healing more temporarily, and Expansive Mind helps to boost your maximum mana.
Undead can access Touch of the Grave for extra leech on top of their regular spells, along with Dark Sacrifice, which cannibalizes the user’s own health for a chunky boost of Mana. Cannibalize can also be useful for restoration when levelling.
All in all, the most important thing is to pick a WoW: Forever class and race combo that you enjoy – even if it’s the ideal combo on paper, you might end up hating it! Roll a few characters and see what works for your personal playstyle, and if you’re a WoW veteran, try playing a class that you wouldn’t normally opt for.
