Be quiet! is an established brand primarily known for its case fans and power supplies. The German brand is now branching out into mid-range and high-end peripherals, with the Light Mount leading the charge as its cheaper of the two decks.
It promises silent operation, backed by respectable hardware and solid design. While it’s not quite leading with what it offers compared to the competition, its price-to-performance makes it well worth considering if you want a noiseless deck on your desk in 2026.
Be quiet! Light Mount price & availability
The be quiet! Light Mount release date was April 29, 2025, and it is available in the US, UK, and Europe for $170 / £150 / €140. You should be able to find it at most major retailers, such as Amazon, Newegg, and Best Buy, as well as directly from the manufacturer. Since its release almost a year ago, you can frequently find it on sale for as low as $140 / £130, depending on the outlet and sales.
Be quiet! Light Mount design & features

True to its namesake, the be quiet! Light Mount is predominantly marketed on its sound-dampening and noiseless operation. The marketing revolves around “Silence is key” and “silent gaming”, with custom linear and tactile switches that reduce the riotous thunder which can emerge from clicky and loud microswitches found on some of the best gaming keyboards. This keyboard features three layers of soundproofing foam with what’s been described as “extra silent keystrokes”.
You have a choice of either Silent Linear (Orange) switches or Silent Tactile (Black) switches, and there is a difference in actuation, travel distance, and force between the two. The former is measured at 45g force, while the latter is 55g, so if you want a lighter touch on the keys, you may be better served with the Silent Linear switches instead. Both are 5-pin and hot-swappable to the PCB socket, so there is the opportunity for further customization later down the line, too.
The be quiet! Light Mount is a full-size wired gaming keyboard with a dedicated volume/mute wheel and five reprogrammable M-keys on the left-hand side. Multi-zone ARGB is standard, with a customizable light bar at the top that runs the full length of the keyboard. A plush magnetic wrist rest is included for added comfort during long gaming sessions. It’s cool to the touch and unobtrusive, unlike some other middleweight decks that can be made of hard plastic. Additionally, a 2m braided cable is included to plug into your rig with enough clearance to avoid snagging. It’s all fairly standard and no-frills, but it’s ultimately solid.
Be quiet! Light Mount performance

I’ve used the be quiet! Light Mount as my primary gaming keyboard for the last month, working and gaming extensively, and I’m even writing this review from the deck currently. Speaking of its typing prowess, I averaged 71 WPM on TypingTest, which isn’t bad given the length of my nails. It’s not the quickest I’ve been able to type, but the respectable actuation and reasonable travel distance were solid enough to not hinder the speed needed in my usual working day. While working, I found the dedicated volume/mute wheel inconsistent. There were times when I would mute a song or a YouTube video, and it would routinely unmute itself, which became frustrating.
Gaming with the Be quiet! Light Mount is decent, but not exceptional. While testing other peripherals, such as the Nacon RIG R5 Spear Max HD headset, I noticed respectable esports and gaming performance, particularly in my movements in CS2, Marvel Rivals, and twitch-based arcade titles like Moto Rush Reborn. The deck features a 1,000Hz polling rate with a 1ms response time via USB-C, which is serviceable but far from what we’ve seen from leading boards that market themselves for a competitive edge, as 8,000Hz polling rates are now commonplace.
While the IO Center dedicated software could be troublesome, I strangely didn’t encounter any issues with the web version available from be quiet! directly. It’s easy to use: you can change the per-key lighting to single color, dual color, or gradients. You can effortlessly switch between lighting directions, brightness, and speeds, with effects such as color waves, Tornado, Breathing, Matrix, and Reactive. You’re also easily able to rebind keys, including the Media keys on the left-hand side. It’s easier from the web in my testing.
