Riot Games has announced a new VALORANT agent, Miks, at the Masters Santiago. He arrives on Wednesday, March 19.

Miks is an all-new Controller in VALORANT, who channels the power of music and tempo to fight against his opponents. His new unique abilities include: Harmonize, M-pulse, Waveform, and Bassquake.

Alongside Miks, VALORANT Season 2026 Act 2 additionally introduces the Blackthorn Collection and a new Battlepass, which includes items like Soulburst Bandit, Dragon Gate Phantom, and the Flick of the Wrist.

Delving deeper into Miks’ abilities, Harmonize acts as a combat stimulant, which refreshes you and allies with an alternate fire. M-Pulse lets you toggle between concussing and healing people. Waveform is a map targeter, and Basquake unleashes Sonic Radiance to deafen and slow your opponents.

A new VALORANT controller to face the music with

While there’s been no shortage of new VALORANT agents added to the game, Miks is the first new Controller since the launch of Clove nearly two years prior. Riot Games has given plenty of love to Sentinels, Duelists, and Initiators since the introduction of Vyse, Tejo, Waylay, and Veto, and now the more strategic role gets its due.

From the new VALORANT trailer, it’s clear that Miks is all about the vibe. The three-minute cinematic, bolstered by Zedd’s “Clarity,” makes for a unique agent offering something unique for Riot Games’ popular tactical shooter.

It begs the question of how Riot Games can balance all its VALORANT agents. With Miks’ introduction, that brings the total to 30 playable characters. The update rolls out later this week, and we’ll be playing to let you know if Miks is a record worth spinning.
