The Remothered series is known for its dark stories, rich characters, and striking visuals. Based on a hands-off preview of the upcoming title, Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy looks like it’ll amplify the strong points of the franchise even further.
I had the opportunity to take part in a hands-off preview of Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy, courtesy of Stormind Games, getting a glimpse of The Red Nun herself and the ominous world that awaits fans of the franchise.
Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy looks ominous

During the preview for Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy, we were shown a cinematic trailer before diving into core game mechanics and what to expect when digging into the title for the first time.
The Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy announcement trailer is short but sweet, showing a glimpse of the Red Nun herself in a viscera-soaked church, along with a tree of hanging bodies. A metronome ticks in the background, illustrating the passing of time as the bodies flicker out of view.
This trailer perfectly set the scene for what came next in the preview – a peek at the game’s story and gameplay style. Players will be in the shoes of Susan, a mother desperately searching for her missing child, Agata, in a mysterious villa on Mount Etna.
Interestingly, Remothered 3 will take place 20 years after the events of the first Remothered game.
The core gameplay elements that Remothered fans have come to appreciate in the older games will still be present here; you’ll need to explore the twisted halls of the villa, dodging ferocious stalkers and looking for clues to help you progress. The team describes the play style as “discovery under pressure.”
The puzzles have the classic Remothered flair, too, with mysterious dolls, shrines, and moving chandeliers. Something I’ve always appreciated about the Remothered games is that they feel like love letters to classic survival horror titles like Silent Hill, while still retaining a distinctive Remothered flair.

Something that particularly stood out to me in the Remothered 3 preview is just how visually intricate the game felt. The villa looked old and desolate, yet strangely beautiful, with ornate, elaborate furnishings and a haunting energy.
There’s more of a combat leaning than previous Remothered games, which is another highlight from my time in the preview. Susan isn’t akin to the Traveller in Cronos: The New Dawn by any means, but she has a few melee options available to help her fend off some enemies while trying to find Agata.
It’s best to think of these as a last resort – from the gameplay I saw, the melee weapons are more for getting out of sticky situations, instead of letting Susan tear through hordes of monsters.
Based on everything shown off in the Remothered 3 preview, I’m confident that this 2026 title will be a delight for fans of the franchise. The game looks both vibrant and dark, and the gameplay style feels like a natural expansion on the titles that’ve come before it. Remothered 3: The Red Nun’s Legacy is worth keeping an eye out for.
