Epic Games has revealed that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 will begin on March 19, 2026. The new season, Showdown, sees the return of both The Foundation and The Ice King.
The new Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 teaser trailer was revealed on X, showing The Ice King walking around his lair and inspecting his frozen foes. Notable heroes sealed away include Captain America and a member of The Foundation.
Chief to the upcoming Fortnite: Showdown season is the ideal of Rivalry, as it’s believed The Ice King has been working with The Dark Voyager, the current villain for Season 7. We’ve also heard more from the game’s elite team of agents, too.
A transmission from The Seven is aimed directly at the Foundation, stating, “Revenge will be ours.” The brief clip goes through previous dates in March for the ordinance deployment, wave destabilization, and a mission recap, before reiterating the new Fortnite season’s start time on March 19, 2026.
In other words, it looks like we’ll have a climactic battle on our hands from Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, which seems far more militarized and personal than the Pacific Break / Hollywood aesthetic the game currently features. Exactly how this plays out in gameplay remains to be seen, but long-time players should be nicely catered to.
A welcome throwback for Fortnite fans
We previously saw The Ice King during the Fortnite OG Ice Storm event, which ran on February 15, 2026. The live event saw Polar Peak begin to melt, thawing the frozen monarch and covering the entire map in snow and frost.
The Foundation was famously portrayed by Hollywood A-lister and part-time wrestler Dwayne Johnson, who was previously seen during The End event, which bookended Chapter 2 and began Chapter 3. It appears that they’ve been frozen all this time and will now triumphantly reemerge into the fold.
We can glean a couple of suspected details from alleged Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 map leaks. It’s believed that new POIs could include The Ice King’s Castle, a Desert Biome, and Coral Castle on the battlefield. It sounds as though there’s a wealth of unfinished business to be resolved through these warmer months to come after all.
